Oxycontin is a prescription pill that has been the subject of much controversy. This controversy surrounded the highly addictive nature of Oxycontin. An Oxycontin addiction is a very dangerous disease and requires Oxycontin detox in order for an addict to fully get their life back. Addiction is a plight that afflicts many in the United States and the world, however with detox services and drug rehab centers hopefully it is an affliction that can be eradicated.

Oxycontin

Oxycontin, also referred to as oxycodone, is a part of the opiate family. It is generally prescribed by doctors as a pain reliever. The effects of the drug are very similar to morphine. It is meant to be taken in small increments around the clock to help people with legitimate health issues manage their pain. However, many people abuse the drug on a regular basis to get high. This drug can be taken orally, injected or snorted by users. It is very easy for a person who recreationally uses oxycontin to quickly develop a chemical dependency on the drug. If you know someone with an oxycontin addiction they need to go through an oxycontin drug detox as soon as possible.

Chemical Dependency

If you are prescribed this drug by a doctor, and take it the way it is meant to be taken, you should not develop an addiction to oxycontin. However, if you abuse the drug and take it in a way that is not medically safe, you can develop a chemical dependency very rapidly. These types of drugs are very powerful and anyone who takes them is susceptible to developing a severe addiction. These can be potentially lethal drugs, especially if combined with alcohol, and many people die each year as a result of overdose.

Oxycontin Addiction

Because of the pain relief that this drug offers and it’s effect directly on the central nervous system, it is very addictive. Those who use the drug recreationally will and other than the prescribed dosage and use will develop a tolerance for Oxycontin. This is dangerous because it will lead them to imbibe larger and larger doses of the drug until an eventual overdose is met or until an intervention occurs.

Today, prescription drug abuse is on the rise and is the leading cause of overdoses and ER visits. Oxycontin is a highly controversial prescription drug, and even in Canada has been pulled from the market. This is due to it’s addictive nature as well as the availability that it used to have. An oxycontin drug abuse is a dangerous one and an overdose can lead to death. This is why it is so important to go through oxy detox in order for an addict to get off of Oxycontin and get their life back.

Savannah Asked: Is this normal.. deja vu.. psychic stuff possibly? please help?Lately it seems more than deja vu, like one time I had a dream (I don't know specifically what it was about) but i remember seeing a picture of my little cousin on a bored walk with a bucket behind her and a few weeks later my aunt had posted the same exact picture, it couldn't had been precognition OR deja vu, because I saw the picture in my dream before she had even posted it! And a lot of the time I'll get this really odd creepy feeling like i had done something the same exact thing WEEKS ago. Sometimes its not even something i'll be doing but also just feelings, like I had felt this way before. Most of the time I really don't mind but it has been happening a lot lately and I want to know why. I'm really open minded about things so if you could suggest some things that would be great. What do you think it is? And if this helps, I'm a 14 year old female. Also, I'm sorry if this is in the wrong category.
